Gussie Vittitow Obituary

Gussie Vittitow, 100, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, at home, with loving family by her side.

She was born June 9,1924, in Boston, Kentucky, to the late Lewis and Lulu Braden Douglas.

She was a beloved wife, mother, aunt and sister, who will be missed dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Earl Vittitow; three brothers, Irwin, Henry and Elza; and four sisters, Gladys, Sudie, Mary and Cleo.

Survivors include her daughter, Beverly Vittitow; and she was blessed with numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

The funeral is at noon Tuesday, April 29, at Brown Funeral Home, 306 College Street in Elizabethtown with Brother Ron Davis officiating. Burial follows in Evergreen Cemetery, 4623 Preston Highway in Louisville.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Gussie's memory to Hosparus of Central Kentucky at hosparushealth.org/donate/ .

I sure am going to miss my friend. She was one of a kind always had a smile for me and a hug, and sometimes a story. I wish I could have seen her one more time and told her again I loved her. Once family but always my friend and I´ll miss her sweet face.RIP Gussie

Aunt Gussie was a very special lady ....She kept a very neat home and was a good cook ...she was a very loving and caring mother to her daughter Beverly ... She loved playing games especially dominoes even more so when she won ..good memories ..Loved by many and will be missed ..Rest in peace ..love Freda
