John Catlett Obituary

John Thomas Catlett, 95, of Louisville, passed away Sunday, Oct. 12, 2025.

He was born May 3, 1930, in Tanner, to the late Edd and Cynthia Catlett. John had a career in the Corrugated Box business. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Presidential Honor Guard. John was ordained as a deacon at Rockford Lane Baptist Church, he served as deacon at Westport Road Baptist Church and also at Central Avenue Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Priscilla Catlett; his parents; six brothers, Raymond, Jim, Arvil, Harding, Lloyd and David; five sisters, Gladys, Catherine, Evelyn, Lorena and Betty; a son-in-law, Wayne Moore; and a stepson, Ray Boone.

John is survived by his wife of 16 years, Bernice Catlett; three children, Michael (Susan) Catlett, Jennifer Moore and Elizabeth (Scott) Toler; four stepchildren, Judy Bernaur, Janette (David) King, Kevin (Doretta) Boone and Kristi Boone; seven grandchildren, John, Erin, Katie, Ruth, Evan, Annemarie and Caroline; eight stepgrandchildren, Christopher, Rebecca, Tim, Tara, Melanie, Heather, Amanda and Adam; nine great-grandchildren; and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.

A celebration of life is at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at Westport Road Baptist Church, 9705 Westport Road in Louisville,

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church.
