Linda G. Cooper

Linda G. Cooper of Elizabethtown, died Friday, Oct. 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown.

Linda was born in Louisville and attended Valley High School. She loved to cook, crochet and was an avid reader. She taught many people these skills, providing lessons at her church and through her work with the Laotian refugees. Her children and grandchildren carry on her legacy with their love of cooking, reading and her granddaughter's love of crocheting.

Linda and her husband, Donnie, loved to explore Kentucky and all the surrounding states. They made several trips around the United States to visit family members stationed away from Kentucky. More recently, they would find joy hitting the backroads close to home, finding and trying all the local restaurants.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Irene Waldrews.

She is survived by her soulmate and husband of 63 years, Donald Cooper; her son, Robert Cooper (Teresa); a daughter, Cheyenne Reese (Michael); her three grandchildren, Zachery Cooper, Lauren Cooper and Grayson Reese; her sister, Susan Hartz; and her niece, Lisa Cooper (Alan).

The funeral is at noon Wednesday, Oct. 15, at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road in Louisville. Burial follows in Resthaven Memorial Park.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the funeral home.
