Michael Pirtle Obituary
He was a native of Hardin County and helped organize the first fire department in Stephensburg. Mike was a farmer, mechanic, electrician and a carpenter. He was a lifetime member of Stephensburg Methodist Church. He was the go-to person for anyone's needs and never said no.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Byron W. Pirtle and Patricia Annette Franklin Pirtle.
Survivors include his wife and best friend of 52 years, Vicki Pirtle; two children, Michelle and John Bowen and Mick Pirtle; five grandchildren, Kody and Laura Bowen, PIG and Brandon Ward, Cade and Lane Bowen and Morgan Pirtle; eight great-grandchildren, Lana, Keylee, Oliver, Will, Lucy, Walker, Leona and Banner.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14, at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. Graveside services will be private.

Vickie, I did not hear about your great loss until just now. I live in Bardstown so I am removed from most Hardin County news. It is not fair to say I know what it is like--- but in this case, I think you and I are sharing the same overcoming grief. I cry a little every day and talk to Jack all the time. And I don't want to let that go. I will be thinking of you and praying for you as you grieve
