Raymond Pearl Obituary

Raymond L. "Daddo" Pearl, 88, of Leitchfield, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2018, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

He was born March 6, 1930, in Big Clifty, the son of the late Willian Asa and Nova Elizabeth Haynes Pearl.

He was a merchant and salesman at Arnett's Department Stores located in Leitchfield, Auburn, Russellville, Elkton, Elizabethtown and Hardinsburg. He was past president the Rotary Club and past and youngest president of the Auburn Chamber of Commerce. Daddo loved his family and friends, traveling, racing, golf, casinos and horses. He loved the sunshine and loved the beach. Daddo loved singing and entertained many with his voice. He was in the U.S. Air Force and a member of Leitchfield First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sandra Arnett Pearl; a son, John Pearl; two grandsons, Brandon Hoyt and William Sean Sykes; and seven siblings.

He is survived by three children, Suzanne Hoyte (Norman) of Jacksonville, Florida, Gloria Sykes (Bill) of Elizabethtown and Cliff Pearl (Victoria) of Port St. Lucie, Florida; nine grandchildren, Karrah Pearl, Jason Pearl, Eric Hoyt (Laura), Mary Michelle Wright (Robert), Hilary Cooper (Josh), Hannah Sykes, Tristan Lowe, Chasity Lowe and Brandy Lynn; 13 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Bernice Hurst (Larry) and Betty Schelur (William), all of Louisville.

The funeral is at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, at Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield with Brother Harvey Davis officiating. Cremation was chosen with burial in Walnut Hill Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and continues at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
