Richard Caswell Obituary

Richard Wayne Caswell, 70, of Warner Robins, Georgia, passed away Friday, Oct. 25, 2024, at the Houston Medical Center.

Born June 27, 1954, in Clarkson, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Richard Garland Caswell and the late Ada (Burden) Caswell. Affectionately known as "Rick" by family and friends, he lived a life of service and devotion.

Rick honorably served his country in the United States Navy, retiring after 21 years of dedicated service. He was a faithful man of God and an active member of Oakland Baptist Church, where he passionately served in the children's and youth ministry. His faith and commitment to helping others were evident in all aspects of his life.

In his spare time, Rick enjoyed hunting and fishing, cherishing the moments spent outdoors.

He leaves behind a loving family who will deeply miss him, including his beloved wife, Donna Marie (Harned) Caswell; daughters, Angel Caswell, Carrie Sanders (Nick) and Bonnie Lyles (Chris); and grandchildren, Geni Harris, Robby Caswell, Brandon Sanders, Mykhal Sanders, Rachel Lyles, Christopher Lyles Jr., Dawson Lyles, Caitlyn Lyles and Levi Caswell. He also is survived by his brother, Bennie Caswell (Ginny); his sister, Loretta Crady (Phillip); and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The services celebrating his life were held Wednesday, Oct. 30, at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory with interment at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, Georgia. The Rev. Mike Winfree officiated the services.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Oakland Baptist Church, 1509 Russell Parkway, Warner Robins GA 31088, c/o the children's ministry.

With honor, Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Rick will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his dedication to his faith and his service to his country. May he rest in peace.
