Ruby Bennett Obituary
She was a native of Boston, Kentucky and a member of Severns Valley Baptist Church where she taught 3 year old Sunday school class for 45 years. She loved the Lord, cooking, sewing, canning and gardening. She took the trip of her lifetime to Ireland with her brother and sister-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Warren Bennett; her parents, James and Edith Lucille McGimsey; a sister, Mary Louise Bennett; a brother, Joseph McGimsey; and three infant brothers, James Jr., Vance Cephus and Bobby Lee McGimsey.
She is survived by a son, Phillip Lloyd Bennett of Elizabethtown; three daughters, Linda (Darrell) Joiner of Rineyville, and Carla (Kevin) Thomas and Sandy (Ken) Jaggers, all of Elizabethtown; a sister, Valinda Hughes of Elizabethtown; sisters-in-law, Anna Bechanan, Belinda McGimsey, Nellie Bennett and Ann Bennett; four grandchildren, Angela (Cameron) Brown, Kevin Thomas II, Mary Samantha Jaggers and Dylan Jaggers; numerous nieces and nephews, including two that she thought of as her own, Janice Lewis and Larry Bennett; and her granddog, Ginger.
The funeral is at 2 p.m. Friday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with Brother Joseph Bennett officiating. Burial follows in Elizabethtown City Cemetery.
Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday and continues at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
