Terry T. Henderson

1943 - 2024

Retired Sgt. 1st Class Terry T. Henderson, 80, departed this life Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Signature Healthcare of Elizabethtown, surrounded by his loving military family and friends.

He was born Dec. 2, 1943. Terry was a man with a funny sense of humor, great wisdom and he never met a stranger.

He gave his life to Christ at a young age. He was a graduate of Madison High School in Dallas, Texas. After high school, Terry joined the Army and enjoyed a stellar career in the infantry, military police and as an 82nd Airborne soldier.

Following his retirement from the Army, he continued serving his country by managing a youth sports program with Morale, Welfare and Recreation thus finishing his second career as a DoD civilian at Fort Knox. During his time, he received numerous accolades and recognition for his winning efforts to offer top notch athletic facilities and recreational opportunities to soldiers and family members.

Mr. Henderson was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Lee Henderson and Ruby Elizabeth Henderson; a sister, Neresa Madeline Jeffcoat Miller; and a brother, Curtis Wayne Henderson.

Survivors include his wife, Monika Henderson; a son, Jason Henderson; two sisters, Ruby Jewel Henderson Moore and Brenda Jeanelle Holly Henderson; a brother, James Harold Henderson; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The funeral is at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 23, at Christ Dependent Ministries in Elizabethtown with Pastor Alfred Wesley officiating. Burial is Friday in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central in Radcliff.

Visitation is from 3 to 4 p.m. Thursday at the church.
