Barry Stephen "Steve" Carver Sr., age 82, of Mineral Bluff passed away at his home Sunday, September 1, 2024.
Steve was born October 11, 1941, in Copperhill, Tennessee to mother Bette Abernathy Carver and father Weldon "Archie" Carver.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Carl and Mary Louise Abernathy; step-father, Fred Anderson, and brother in law, Johnny Arp.
Steve was a member of the graduating class of 1960 at West Fannin High School.
He enjoyed a career at the Hilton Hotels, First National Bank of Polk County, JT Hyde Finance Company, Pistol Ballew's Auto Parts and later owned and operated Blue Ridge Auto Parts and Machine Shop.
Fishing, gun smithing, golfing, motorcycles, and antique auctions were some of his beloved hobbies. He was also proud to have earned his private pilot license in 1988.
Steve is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 32 years, Sherry Dotson Carver and their children, Barry (Shannon) Carver Jr., Stephanie (Spencer) Kitchens, Shawn (Becky) Carver, and Jason (Katrina) Atkins; grandchildren, Whitley (Andrew) McDaris, Stephen (Andrea) Carver, Zoe Hodgkins, Zachary (Erin) Carver, and Brady (Kelsey) Carver; great-grandchildren, Drew and Gracie McDaris, Jace, Charleigh, and Olivia Carver, Brant and Mack Carver, Ian and Jett Carver; sister Eve Arp; mother and father-in-law, Janice and Autry Dotson; Brother and sister-in-law, Garry, and Diane Dotson. Special uncle, Robert Lowery Abernathy. Special cousin, Dyann Farmer and Jan Holley. Many other cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation was held from noon until 3 p.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2024, and the funeral hour was at 3 p.m. from the Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home in Blue Ridge, Georgia. Pastor Koty Queen officiated. Music was by David Ballew and Brenda Lunsford Vandiver. Pallbearers were, Stephen Carver, Zachary Carver, Brady Carver, Andrew McDaris, Drew McDaris, Michael Arp, and Mark Arp. Honorary pallbearers were, David Ballew, Todd Pack, Brian Jones, Richard Wagner, and Bill Stuart.
Interment will be at the Crestlawn Cemetery in Copperhill, Tennessee.
