Jo Weeks Obituary

Mrs. Margaret "Jo" Ann Weeks, age 72, of Sunrise Road, Blue Ridge, passed away, peacefully Friday, January 12, 2024, in the Union General Hospital following an extended illness.
Mrs. Weeks was born October 14, 1951, the daughter of the late Hara Norton and the late Ethel Brooks Norton.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Fannin County. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and sister. Jo loved working and riding with her beloved husband, Bobby.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ben Norton and two sisters, Sue Norton and Willie Dale. Jo was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving Mrs. Weeks are her loving husband and best friend of 35 years, Bobby Weeks of Blue Ridge; one stepson, Charlie Weeks of Dial, Georgia; one stepdaughter, Amy and Doug Taylor of Marble, North Carolina; one brother and sister-in-law, Kimsey and Judy Norton of Blue Ridge; two sisters, Myrtle Robinson of Dallas, North Carolina, Lorenia Norton of Blue Ridge; several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 15, 2024, at 2 p.m., from the Sugar Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Huff and the Rev. Eric Davenport officiating. Special music was presented by Jeff and Denise Calhoun.
The following gentleman served as pallbearers, Jessie Long, Josh Norton, Brentlee Norton, Jessie Norton, Troy Norton and Billie Weeks.
The following gentleman served as honorary pallbearers, Merl Long, Eric Norton, Chase Norton, Leroy Norton, Jerome Stewart. Interment followed in the Sugar Creek Church Cemetery. The family met with friends at the Sugar Creek Baptist Church Monday from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m.
Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville was in charge of the arrangements.
