Milton "Fox" Christopher Briant, age 81, of McCaysville, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025, in Riverdale, Georgia.
Milton was born December 31, 1943, in McCaysville to Murphy Chris and Reathea Briant.
Milton was preceded in death by his father, Murphy Chris Briant; mother, Reathea Briant; sister, Kay (W.D.) Cook; sister, Greta Jones; sister, Mary (Sam) McCollough; brother, George (Christine) Briant; brother, Clifford Briant; brother-in-law, Arthur Bradham; and niece, Mickie Cook.
He is survived by his sister, Virginia Bradham; nieces, Beth (Craig) Ramsey, Lynda (Gary) Cook, Janet (David) Ballew, Sherrie (Bob) Danner, and Debbie (Bob) Pruitt; nephews, Doug Cook, Joseph McCollough, Kevin (Christy) Briant, Larry (Melinda) Briant, and Daniel (Carrie) Bradham; special family friends, Lisa Cook, Jason Cook, and Keira Cook; and several great nieces and great nephews.
Milton was a member of Kingtown Baptist Church. He graduated from West Fannin High School and then attended Truett McConnell University until he was called to serve his country in Vietnam. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. One of the responsibilities during his service was to fuel the helicopters in Vietnam. After his military service he worked at the Tennessee Copper Company.
Milton also enjoyed the outdoors. He loved riding through the mountains, hunting, and cooking out with friends. In his younger years he played baseball and coached softball. He loved sports and never wanted to miss a ball game. He was always ready to cheer on his favorite Georgia teams, including his beloved Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs!
Milton "Fox" Briant loved God, country, family, and friends. A funeral service was held Sunday September 21, 2025, at 3 p.m. at Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home McCaysville Chapel with Pastor Gary Parris and the Rev. Gary Smith officiating.
The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Jason Cook, Bob Danner, Bob Pruitt, Aaron Ramsey, and Patrick Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Joseph McCollough, Kevin Briant, and Larry Briant.
Military Honors were provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard.
Interment followed at Copper Ridge Cemetery in Blue Ridge.
