Barbara Lassiter Obituary
Covington - Services for Mrs. Barbara (Bob) Rogers Lassiter, formerly of Monroe, LA, will be at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel, Monroe, with Dr. Mark Fenn officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Monroe.
Mrs. Lassiter was born on October 30, 1935 in Delhi, LA and passed from this life on July 22, 2021 in Covington, LA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nickolas L Lassiter, her parents, Mattie and Leo Rogers, her twin sister, Nell Hindmon, and an infant brother, Toby Rogers.
Survivors include her daughter, Lynn Lassiter Duncan and husband, Jay of Covington, LA, her son, Clay Lassiter and wife, Lynn of Richmond, TX; grandchildren, Ashley Duncan Battaglia (Blake), New Orleans, LA, Lauren Lassiter Neal (Dalton), Nickolas Lassiter II (Nikki) all of Houston, TX, Lindsey Duncan and fiancé, Kristian Frimodig, Ada, MI, Read Lassiter and Lance Lassiter, Richmond, TX; great-grandchildren, Cecilia and Gabriel Battaglia, New Orleans, LA.
Barbara was a graduate of Neville High School and Northeast Louisiana State College (ULM) where she received her Bachelor's, Master's and +30 in Education. She was a teacher for over 35 years, first in Monroe City Schools and then at River Oaks School. She was a member of First Baptist Church in West Monroe.
Pallbearers will be Nickolas Lassiter II, Lance Lassiter, Blake Battaglia, Dalton Neal, Kristian Frimodig, and Todd Hindmon.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:30 until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Nickolas L Lassiter Memorial Scholarship at the University of Louisiana-Monroe or the Alzheimer's Association.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Avanti Senior Living, Covington, LA for their care of Barbara.

My heart is with your family. Your parents were role models to little squirts like I was in my preteens. We were blessed to have teachers like Bob and Nell who made Junior High less stressful. They were young, cool teachers who made learning FUN! Count all of your special days with Barbara(Bob) and feel your blessings.
