I only heard about CJs death today August 27 2012. I first met CJ in law school in 1974. I had not talked to CJ in about 15 years but still consider her among my best friends. Her death deeply saddens me. I will always remember her.

I met C.J., as she was introduced to me then, in 1973 at the University of Arkansas School of Law, where I very soon learned that she and I were born on the same day of the same month of the same year. She was in our study group and always added greatly to the quality of our discussions. I will always remember the kindness in her voice, her quiet confidence, the softness in her eyes and the genuine warmth of her smile. I regret that I had not spoken with her in many years and had no idea of the brave battle she waged. My heart and prayers go out to Chase, who was a classmate with one of my children, and to all of her family. Such a fine lady, whose goal seemed always to make our world a better place.

I worked w/Cheryl in the early 70's in her first law office in North Little Rock, AR and was bridesmaid at her wedding. She was a sweet person, deeply tender hearted and wanted to go the extra mile to help everyone. I was fortunate to run into her father in the hospital just before he passed away and so sorry Mike has lost so many of his loved ones. May God bless and keep you.

Sad to hear of Cheryl's loss. As the only other Pittsburgh area grad of the Arkansas Law School, we used to kid around about being our own "alumni association chapter." She was a great help when we worked together on the '92 Campaign and it was fun to have another FOB and "Arkie" here helping the effort. She was in her glory at the Inaugural Ball that year and she so much enjoyed the whole week of events, including the Law School Alumni party we attended together in DC. Will miss her smile and sense of humor and fun. Pittsburgh and all of us were lucky to have had her around as long as we had. Condolences to her family and friends.

I had the honor of working with Cheryl at ADEQ in the early 1980's. She crafted some of the first environmental enforcement cases in Arkansas. She was a class act and its a shock to recieve this sad news. She will be missed by everyone that met her.

"Cheryl was a significant contributor to the enviromental practice at K&L Gates and an invaluable supporter and colleague of the transactional lawyers (including me) who relied upon her good counsel. Her twinkling eyes and infectious smile made many a harried moment easier to endure. How sad that she is no longer among us. My condolences to her family.

I was saddened to learn of Cheyl's death. I worked with Cheryl during her tenure as Chief of the Enforcement Division of the Arkanas Department of Pollution Control & Ecology. Cheryl had a rare gift for being completely professional while at the same time being extremely personable. Cheryl was a skilled lawyer, a dedicated public servant, and a good friend. All who knew her in Arkansas will mourn her loss.
