Gary Rainey

Gary Rainey, age 54 of McKinney, Texas passed gently and quietly surrounded by family to be with his Lord on Thursday evening, September 20, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Gary was born to Ralph and Frieda Rainey on August 23, 1958 in Breese, Illinois. He graduated from Carlyle High School in 1976. Gary married Kim Nettles on September 5, 1980, and began a wonderful life together. They resided in Monroe, Louisiana for 14 years before being transferred to McKinney, Texas as Gary worked as a Sales Manager in the Firearms and Ammunition field.

Gary is survived by his loving wife Kim (Nettles) Rainey of 32 years; daughter and fiancé, Jessica Rainey and Rusty Carver of McKinney, Texas; son and fiancé, Jason Rainey and Sarah Nelson of McKinney, Texas; parents Ralph and Frieda Rainey of Carlyle, Illinois; sister Marilyn Mason of Walnut Creek, California; sister and brother-in-law Phyllis and Edward Albat of Carlyle, Illinois; nephews, Jay Mason of San Mateo, California and Rob Mason of San Jose, California; niece Tammy Eigenrauch and family, Wayne, Tiffany and Travis of Nashville, Illinois.

Funeral service will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church of Carlyle on Monday, September 24, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Yingst Cemetery in Carlyle. Family will take visitors at Zieren-Day Funeral Home in Carlyle on Sunday, September 23, 2012 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Visitors also welcome before funeral service on Monday morning at 10:00 AM.

Gary, You are a great rifleman and trapshooter! Kim and Family, please except our heartfelt condolences for your lose. I remember cousin Gary as always having a warm smile and a kind word whenever we talked, he was and will always remain that exceptional individual.
