Julia Vanlangendonck Obituary
Funeral services for Julia Mayes Denison Vanlangendonck, age 70, of Kelly, will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, June 1, 2015 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Joe Aguillard officiating. Interment will follow at Roberts Cemetery in Kelly. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
Julia was born December 20, 1944 to the union of Herman "Red" and Audie Roberts Mayes in Olla and she passed from this life on May 30, 2015 at her residence in Kelly.
She was a mail carrier for 30 years. She also sold Avon for 31 years and was known fondly as the Avon lady. She attended Kelly Baptist Church. She loved to read. She also loved plants in the summertime and quilting in the wintertime. She was passionate about her friends and family. She was preceded in death her parents; the father of her children: Bernard Denison; sister-in-law: Betty Mayes.
She is survived by two daughters: Denise Denison and longtime companion Martin Cavazos of Marion; Wanda Westbrooks and her husband Eddie of Kelly; four brothers: John Mayes, Gary Mayes, and Roy Mayes, all of Grayson, and Jim Mayes of Los Angeles; two sisters: Aline Norwood of Alexandria and Vivian Foster of Kelly; five grandchildren: Marcus Esters, Holley Esters, Mallory Westbrooks, Canyon Westbrooks, and Kody Ramsey; a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Canyon Westbrooks, Marcus Esters, Chris Labell, and Kody Ramsey.

Denise and Wanda At the service when Brother Joe asked if anyone would like to say a word. At that time I was unable because of breaking down. I speak for all the Denison family your mom was always a part of our family from day one of her marriage to your dad. We all loved her.She was a precious sweet lady with a lot of class, character and stability. A midst all her difficulties in life she held strong. She was a hard worker who had a kind heart of love. We will all cherish those memories. Praying for you girls during this most difficult time in your life. Praying that you will stay close to each other. You both did a wonderful job taking care of your mom. We are all very proud of you. We realize some of your mom wonderful traits were passed down. We are here for you both. We love both of you very much.
