Marolyn Pemberton Obituary
Funeral services for Marolyn Layne Barton Pemberton, age 90, of West Monroe will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 19, 2016 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA with Pastor Eddy Shoemaker officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Calhoun, Louisiana.
Mrs. Pemberton was born on January 4, 1926 and passed away on March 16, 2016. Marolyn Pemberton grew up in Monroe, Louisiana. She graduated from Ouachita Parish High School in 1944. During World War II, she worked as a welder in a navy shipyard in San Francisco, California. She played softball as a young woman, and the love of the sport brought her joy throughout her life. She was a woman of great faith and taught Sunday school for as long as she was able to do so. She loved reading, gardening, and cooking. She was a beloved sister, wife, mother, aunt, friend, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
Marolyn is preceded by her husband, Laudis Pemberton; her brothers, Norman and Lou Greg Barton; her twin sister, Carolyn Johnson; and her daughter, Mary "Dedee" Massey.
She is survived by her sisters, Betty Dawson and Gloria Barnett; her daughters, Betty Isaak and Sonja Pemberton; her niece, Jeanene Nolan, and numerous other nieces and nephews; her grandchildren, Reginald and Joseph LaFountaine, Charity Anderson, Jay Massey, and Melissa Felton.
Visitation will be at Mulhearn Funeral Home on Saturday, March 19, 2016 from 12:00 P.M. until service time.

I liked seeing her from time to time. she lived next door from me at Claiborne Creek Retirement. She was happy to move closer to her sister. I was glad to know her. God Bless you Marolyn and my you rest in peace.
