MARY BOLES Obituary

Mary Catherine Furlow Boles, age 82, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother left this life on Saturday, September 25th, 2010. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 28th, 2010, at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Officiating will be Reverend Matthew Long. Entombment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe.
She was born in Elizabeth, Louisiana to Adelaide and John Furlow. She lived many years in Rayville and was a resident of Monroe for the last 27 years.
Elegant and simple, Catherine always had an eye for fashion. She loved shopping, traveling, playing bridge, gardening and her church. Above all, "Meme" enjoyed time spent with her family and friends and would consider her children, grandchildren, and g reat grandchildren her greatest accomplishment.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, William Russell "Billy" Boles.
She is survived by her 4 children and their spouses, Linda and George Campbell, Diane and Walter Kirtland, Janet and Scott Crawford, Bill and Christine Boles. She is survived by 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Grandchildren are Catherine Campbell Creed, and her husband, Christian, Allyson Campbell Young and her husband, Lewis, Joseph Patrick Campbell, and his wife Christina, George Mennon Campbell, William Boles Kirtland, Mason Daniel Kirtland, Matthew Wesley Chambers, Catherine Holland Crawford, William Russell Boles, III, Christopher Evan Boles and Jonathan Joseph Reitzell Boles. Great grandchildren are Catherine Neal Creed, Christian Campbell Creed, John Wesley Chambers and Dayton Patrick Campbell and her special niece, Susan Mitchell Neal, and her husband Hibbett and her devoted dog, Fluff.
Pallbearers will be her adult grandsons, Mennon Campbell, Patrick Campbell, Billy Kirtland, Mason Kirtland, Matthew Chambers, Christian Creed, Lewis Young and her longtime employee and friend, Kenneth Reed.
Honorary pallbearers will be her close friends, Yvonne Anderson, Pat Bagwell, Jeannine Cannon, Betty Hastings, Jane Hayden, Delores Johnson, Mary Lee King, Mary McConathy, Jeannie Ryan and all of her Rayville Bridge Club companions.
Her presence in our lives will be greatly missed and we are honored to have shared in her life.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to M.D. Anderson, 1515 Holcombe Blvd, Houston, TX 77030 or St. Jude Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, Masur Museum, 1400 South Grand, Monroe, LA 71202 or the charity of the donor's choice.

Janet,
We are very sorry for your loss. Like you, we have lost both of our parents and fully understand what you are experiencing. Know that, especially in this difficult time, you are embraced and loved. Know that your parents will always be with you in your thoughts and actions. Let your mother's spirit fill the empty space in your heart and manifest herself through you.
