Jackie R. B. Thompson, 72, of Demorest, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, peacefully surrounded by family. Born on April 2, 1953, Jackie was the oldest child of the late R.B. Thompson and Geneva Shirley. He was a man of Holiness Faith, steadfast values, and a deep, abiding love for his family and friends.
Jackie was known for his big heart, his love of big trucks and motorcycles, and his giving nature. He found joy on the open road, in the roar of an engine, and in quiet moments spent with those he loved. More than anything, Jackie loved his children - they were his greatest blessing and the light of his life. His pride in his family was evident to everyone who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, April Smith Thompson; his son, Joey Thompson; great-grandchild, Draven Justus; grandchildren, Hannah McFall, Brandon McFall, and Eric Hollister; and his sister, Jay Thompson.
He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Nation Thompson, who stood by his side and shared many cherished years with him.
Jackie is also survived by his brother, Dennis (Janice) Thompson, of Cornelia; his children, Tammy Allgary (Charlie), of Demorest, Nicole Massey (Ashby), of Cornelia, Hope Reddish (Andrew), of Mt. Airy, Stacy Justus (Mari), of Clarkesville, Shane McFall (Charlene), of Dalton, Carl Justice, and Tim Justus, of Clarkesville.
He was a proud grandfather to Jacqueline Sullens, Bubba Allgary, Blake Thompson, Brody Thompson, Paige Thompson, Brandon Burrell, Kirsten Thompson, Jax Thompson, Cody Massey, Carlee Massey, Jackson Reddish, Clyde Reddish, Abigail McFall, Kailey McFall, Chelsey Justus, Larry Justus, Marie Payne, Curtis Mincey, Audrey Loggins, Justin Justice, Stephanie Zeller, Tiffany Butcher, Harley Justus, Dawn Taylor and Amber Smith.
Jackie's legacy continues through his many great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Sophia, Gunner, Hadley, Everly, Kayden, Michael, Lucas, Kathleen, Greyson, Gracie, Westyn, Karlee, Aubree, Daxton, Bryce, Hayden, Sayden, Eliza, Daphne, Kenlee, Devlyn, Anna, PJ, Jozalyn (Jozie), Jonah, Malachi, Nolan, Winter, Arabella, and Zach; as well as his great-great-grandchild, Otto.
Jackie will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his generous spirit, and the joy he brought to everyone around him. To know him was to love him. He lived with purpose, loved deeply, and left a legacy that will carry on through the many lives he touched.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025, in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin and McEntire with Rev. Johnny Loudermilk and Rev. Reddog officiating. Interment will follow in Clarkesville City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025, at the funeral home.
