James Hallford Obituary

James Winston Hallford, born on July 31, 1942, in Toccoa, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, in Cornelia. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, family devotion, and a deep love for his faith.
James dedicated his career to auto body repair, showcasing not only his technical skills but also his commitment to excellence in a craft that he cherished. Throughout his life, he embraced the values of diligence and integrity, making a meaningful impact in both his professional and personal endeavors.
Education was also an important part of James' life; he earned certification as a reflexologist, further indicating his interest in the well-being and healing of others. His caring nature extended beyond his profession as he spent countless hours devoted to his family whom he loved dearly.
A man of profound faith, James found great joy in reading his Bible and participating in church activities. His spiritual life brought him peace and purpose, and he was a cherished member of his community.
James is survived by his stepdaughter, Gia Heather Hulsey; stepdaughter, Goodney Zapp (Bruce Pinkard); stepson, Garnett "Gary" Richard Hulsey (Grace); grandchildren, Jacob, Ivan, Scott, Seth, Elijah and Cassie; as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. His warmth and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Randi Torgesen Hallford, whose memory he carried with him throughout his life; brothers and spouses, Jeff (Trudy) Hallford, Amos (Mary Jo) Hallford; sisters and spouses, Sarah (Al) Morrow, and Mary (T.J.) Yearwood.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 24, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at McGahee-Griffin and McEntire Funeral Home in Cornelia. The funeral service took place on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 11 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Nix and Rev. Chris York officiating. Interment followed the service in the church cemetery with Rev. Alvin Burns officiating.
James Winston Hallford will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his faith and family, and his gentle spirit will continue to inspire those who loved him.

So sorry to hear about James passing. I knew James's back in the day when he owns Hallford Gas Station in Toccoa. He also stops by the house and watch tv with us when he closes the station. Also my daddy drown the wreaker that he had because we live 3 houses down where is station was. R.I.P. James! when you see daddy, mama, & Larry tell them that I love and miss them all. My parents name are Charles and Ethel Carter. My Brother name is Larry Carter. And my name is Janice Carter Kelly.
