David Yonke Obituary

Yonke, David

David "Dave Cat" Martin Yonke, 58, of Oshkosh, WI passed away Thursday November 5th 2015.

David was born November 7th 1956 to John and Juanita Yonke in Kankakee, IL.

David was a Marine that served his country from 1974 until his honorable discharge in 1976. He married the love of his life in 1977. He spent most of his years as a mechanic. He then managed his own hard wood flooring business, he always took great pride in his skilled work as a craftsman. Spent several years working for Milwaukee PC honing his skills in computer technology. David recently obtained his CDL from Fox Valley Technical College and was working with the Kruepke Trucking Company out of Jackson, WI.

David will be remembered for his compassion for others, his willingness to help all at any moment, his sound counsel and advice, and his jovial innocent heart. Whether David was helping you with your car, life problems, tinkering around with whatever needed fixing or creating and customizing, he did it with a warm smile, bountiful laughter, and generous heart. He was loved by many and always willing to help and teach. He was a pure joy to have in your life and he will be missed by many.

David enjoyed every ounce of his extended and immediate family. He looked forward to coming home from being on the road to his wife and grandchildren. Anytime he was away for the week, we all looked forward to seeing "Papa" on the weekends. David enjoyed working on computers, vehicles, engineering, fishing, and spending time with his brothers.

David is survived by his wife Linda, two sons - Brian (wife Kate, grandchildren Brady, Etta, Rose) and Joseph (Jess and grandchildren Emelia, Ethan, Estella, and Evelyn). His father, John Yonke (Mary). His brothers Bruce (Sherry), Brent (Sue), Kevin (Doris), Eric (Martha) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Juanita Yonke, whom he thought about and missed every day.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 9th from 9:00-11:00 am, his Celebration of Life Service will be at 11:00 am with Fr. Edward Looney officiating. All events will be taking place at St. Raphael's church in Oshkosh, WI.

I was shocked to hear Dave had passed. Dave was one of those few people you meet in life that you could count on to be there when you needed him. I'll never forget taking the Boy Scouts to the Willow Flowage with him. He was a good friend & the best neighbor I've ever had. My heart goes out to Linda and the boys.

I am very sad to hear of Dave's passing and very shocked too. I just seen him about a month or so ago. I always waited on him at the Winneconne Kwik Trip and seen him from time to time at my new store here in Oshkosh on Witzel. I always enjoyed his smile and warm heart. He always took time to listen and that made me feel good. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. Dave was a kind man and will be missed dearly.
