Dora Sieg Obituary

Sieg, Dora Marie

Dora Marie Sieg (nee Maldari), age 97 of Redgranite, passed away peacefully Monday morning, November 12, 2012. Dora was born August 28, 1915 in Redgranite, the second daughter of Filippo and Pasqualina D'Agostino Maldari. Dora attended Redgranite Schools and graduated from the Redgranite High School in the class of 1933. She married Harvey P. Sieg August 17, 1940 at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Redgranite. Harvey preceded Dora in death on September 26, 1991 after 51 years of marriage.

Dora clerked for Campbell's Apparel, Marshowsky's Grocery and Marquardt's Drug Store, all of Berlin before and following her marriage. She lived in Berlin before moving back to Redgranite in 1954, where she and her husband owned and operated Harve's Standard Service for 13 years. Dora then clerked at Burman's Pharmacy and Gift Shop for 16 years before retiring in 1983.

Dora was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church in Redgranite and former member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Berlin. She was a member of the Redgranite Civic Center, the Redgranite Friends of the Library and a committee member of the Redgranite Golden Alumni Association. Dora was a former member of Mascoutin Country Club of Berlin and its Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of the Women's Bowling Association for 28 years.

Dora immensely enjoyed her family, walking, riding her three-wheeled bike, reading, gardening and her flowers. She was an avid Packer, Badger and Brewer fan. She also loved the Men's PGA and local baseball games, especially when her sons or granddaughters were playing.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Sandy Sieg and Tom and Lynda Sieg, all of Redgranite; four granddaughters, Lisa (Brandon) Saladin, Lori Ketter, Tricia Sieg and Julie Roehl; six precious great-grandchildren, Kadence Saladin, Jaden Saladin, Jake Ketter, Kyle Ketter, Dominik Roehl and Natalee Roehl; one sister Isabella Marks, sister-in-law Evelyn Chase and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Harvey, Dora was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Laura (Sam) Rellis and Mary (Pete) Quick; a brother Joe (Betty) Maldari; two brothers-in-law Bob Marks and Earl Chase.

Private family services for Dora were held at the Ruminski Funeral Home in Redgranite. Father Joseph Mattern of St. Mark's Catholic Church officiated. Dora was laid to rest beside her husband Harvey on the family plot at Berlin Oakwood Cemetery. Per Dora's request, no visitation was held.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to the Juliette Manor staff and Heartland Hospice for their kindness and loving care.
