"Mr Spanbaurer" was my Social Sciences" teacher when I attended Rosendale High School in the late 1950s. As someone who went on to work as a university faculty member, I can now especially appreciate his very significant efforts to do a great job. In retrospect, I want to acknowledge his genuine energy and to officially commend his contributions. Thank You!

John was a kind mentor and teacher when I started working at what was then the Winnebago County Dep't of Social Services (now Human Services). I'm happy he was able to do so many things in his retirement and was able to remain in his home at the end. RIP, my friend.

So very sorry to hear of John's passing. Frank and I enjoyed his company while having breakfast at Deb's on a Saturday or Sunday morning. Frank and John shared stories of their time in the Navy and so on. Truly a great gentleman that loved all people and helped many of them. John's knowledge and compassion will be missed by many of his friends and most importantly his niece's that took care of him.

Dear family,
John was always a friendly, intelligent, good man. I got to know him as one of his friends at the Hardee's coffee group. Thanks for mentioning that. Good humor, patience, and respectful man of positive attitude especially thru his illness these later years. I consider him a friend. I will miss him..surely, today he is in Heaven, Prayers for him, and all of you. May John Rest in Peace.
