Joyce Virginia Bauer went to her eternal home Friday, December 8, 2017 at the age of 91. She was born to Eric and Malinda Wolfgram on September 12, 1926 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. She attended Oshkosh High School and went on to secretarial school, working in offices in Washington D.C. and Oshkosh. On July 8, 1950, she married Francis Robert Bauer, also of Oshkosh.

Joyce and Bob had three children, whom they raised in Oshkosh, Milwaukee and Muskego, Wisconsin. They valued the Lutheran faith, self-reliance and thriftiness. Important to their lives were the churches they attended: Bethlehem Lutheran in Oshkosh, Ebenezer in Milwaukee, and St. Paul's in Tess Corners. Joyce belonged to Dorcas Society and Ladies Aid, and taught Sunday School at various times in her life. Although she worked at various jobs, raising her family was the chief focus of Joyce's life; her greatest joy was being with family. Especially dear to her were family vacations in Shawano.

Joyce is survived by her children, Ruth (Larry) Caves, Laura Shook, and David Bauer; sister and brother-in-law Bonnie Lee and Gordon Helmeid; sister-in-law Bonnie Jean Wolfgram; grandchildren Stephan (Shannon) Caves, Andrew (Shawn) Caves, Courtney (Kevin) Kihslinger, Julia (Corey) Frazer, and Dennis (Taylor) Shook II; ten great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Krista Caves; Elijah, Grace, Noah, Anna and Micah Caves; Ethan and Ava Kihslinger; Everett Frazer; and Kinsley and Dennis Shook III; nephew Jon (Nancy) Wolfgram; nieces Karine Helmeid and Beth (Darren) McMillan (children Owen, Sara and Charlie) and numerous friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Bauer; her brother, Dr. Richard Wolfgram; her son-in-law, Dennis Shook, brother-in-law Gerald Bauer; and sister-in-law Mary Owens.

A visitation will be held at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home -Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Drive on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, with the service to follow. Pastor Paul Lidtke will officiate. Entombment will be at Lake View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

The family would like to thank Dr. Ammar Alzoubi and his staff at Aurora Medical Center for their care of Joyce and Bob, and the dedicated staff at The Waterford of Oshkosh, where Joyce enjoyed residing for over two years.
