Robert Cotter Obituary
Dr. Robert P. Cotter "Doc," age 80, of Ripon, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at Markesan Resident Home in Markesan.
Robert was born November 20, 1934, the son of Howard and Clara (Sina) Cotter. He graduated from Ripon High School and furthered his education at the University of Platteville and graduated from the University of Minnesota as a doctor of veterinary medicine. He owned and operated Cotters Veterinary Clinic and was a partner in Associated Veterinary Clinic. He retired after 33 years of practice. Robert also served our country in the United States National Guard. He was a member of the Ripon's Lion's Club for 51 years. Robert was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Cotter of Ripon, WI; children, Robert Cotter Jr. of Minneapolis, MN, Jonathan Cotter of Bradenton, FL, Michelle Cotter of St. Paul, MN and Margaret Cotter (Jose DeMoya) of Edgerton, WI; grandchildren, Jamie, Sean, and Gabriella DeMoya-Cotter all of Edgerton, WI. Robert is further survived by his sisters, Mary Cotter of Montello, WI, and Cis (Mark) Holzhauer of Henderson, NV; brothers, William (Mel) Cotter of Arlington, TX, and Dr. Patrick (Natasha) Cotter of Gill, MA. He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Clara Cotter; daughter Katheryn Lynn; brothers, Thomas, James, and Donald Cotter; sister, Elizabeth Winchell and his first wife, Joan Carol Bridger.
Visitation for Dr. Robert P. Cotter "Doc" will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2015, from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.
Memorial Service for Dr. Robert P. Cotter "Doc" will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2015, at 11:30 a.m. at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Inurnment will take place at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Ripon. Memorials may be directed to Wisconsin Lion's Foundation Inc., 3834 County Road A, Rosholt, WI 54473-9335.

My very deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the Family of "Doc" Cotter, and may the Love of our Heavenly Father comfort all of you on your loss. I was one of his many clients, since he cared for not only my cattle, but also my dog when I farmed in the Omro area. May Doc forever Rest In Peace, and may God's Perpetual Light forever shine upon him.
