Samantha Tigert Obituary

Tigert, Samantha

Samantha Lynn Tigert, age 30, of Oshkosh, passed suddenly on Sunday, May 7, 2017. She was born to Robert and Kim (Neubauer) Tigert on October 15, 1986. Sam was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant, most recently at Helen's House. Sam always had a special place in her heart for the residents she cared for, it was difficult for her to not become too attached to them. Sam spent most of her free time caring for animals of all shapes and sizes, she was especially fond of horses.

Samantha will be greatly missed by her mother, Kim (Lorin) Steevens of Oshkosh; her father, Robert (Kelly) Tigert of Oshkosh; her paternal grandmother, Margaret Tigert of Oshkosh; her only sister, Beth (Ben) Trehey of Rochester, Minnesota; and a niece and nephew, Ava and Owen Trehey, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and step family members. Preceding Sam in death were her maternal grandparents and paternal grandfather. We feel fortunate that Auntie Sammy was able to form a very special bond with Ava and Owen, who she lovingly referred to as "her nuggets".

Our family would like to take this opportunity to urge anyone who is struggling with difficult decisions to reach out to someone, to anyone. There are always people who will be there for you, even if you feel like you have nowhere to turn.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at 12 Noon, at Seefeld Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, with Reverend Tim Greenwald officiating. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 12 Noon at the funeral chapel. Online condolences to the family may be made at www.seefeldfuneral.com.

Sam trained me for my position at Helen's House almost two years ago. I enjoyed working with her and found her to be a very caring and understanding individual with a delicious sense of humor. I am deeply saddened to hear about her passing away.
