I remember Bruce from a singles group I joined back in the early 80's. We weren't close friends but just acquaintances. He knew my brother John better than me. Bruce contacted me via linkedin a few months ago. He actually thought he was reaching John. I exchanged one message with him. But I thought it interesting that I remembered Bruce so well from so long ago. He was a very likable and engaging guy. He had a personality that was easy to remember even after 30 years. I could still picture him after all that time and I'm not one to remember people that well. I guess that says something about the person when they can make a favorable impression that lasts for 30 years.

Julie and I are so sorry to hear about Bruce. Since moving out of state we haven't stayed in as close contact as we would have liked, but I have fond memories of the frequent poker games with Bruce and the guys. Bruce was the king of the nickel raise! Jenny, you and the boys will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Byron Family ,accept my heartfelt condolences in the passing of Bruce and know that I realize what a difficult time this is for you all. I will always remember Bruce as a loving and concerned father who would do anything for his boys. His goal was to raise bright, honest, hard working children who would succeed in life in whatever they wanted to be.
Family was the reason Bruce lived and he was always at Jenny's side, What a loving legacy he has left you all. Hang onto those fabulous memories for that is what he would want.
Love to you all,
Marianne Maurer

What we will most remember about Bruce is his gentle way and his great whit. He and the boys were so much fun at Jamie's Eagle Project. It was a cold October day, raining, of course, and we had such a good time! Bruce had even offered to help Jamie through the entire Eagle project if Bob couldn't because of all his foreign travel. Bruce will be dearly missed and dearly remembered.
