George was such an inspirational man. It was only a couple of months ago that he was concerned about not being able to usher because he did not feel well. He kept saying " I need to get to my door. I need to go usher." What a BEAUTIFUL CHRISTIAN MAN. He has been a true role model. We are honored to have met George at CCC.
We are lifting our prayers for his family and friends.

What fond memories I have of my grandfather, Papa Thompson. I am so thankful my son Nathan had the opportunity to spend even a short amount of time with such a loyal patriot of our country--we are so proud. How blessed we are to know he is in Heaven with Granny Thompson where we will again see them and a host of other family and friends.

I am so sorry to hear of George's passing, what a sweetheart he was. I know Ruth was waiting for him in Heaven and I see them walking hand in hand. A lovely couple made for each other. I pray for God's comfort and peace to surround the family as they go through this difficult time. RIP George..

George was always the first one at the Saturday Morning Prayer table and his prayer was always from the heart. We know the LORD greeted you with, "Well done good and faithful servant".

George was a very lovable, kind man who served his country well and then shared his experiences with people of all ages. He always had good advice for yung people. I will always remember him and his beautiful, gentle smile.

Dear Family,
Mattie and I will always have fond memories of our Uncle George. He was and is a precious soul. He will always be remembered as one of our heroes as a Veteran of WWII and as one of the sweetest persons one could ever know. It is our privilege to call him our loved one. What a great reunion now for him with Aunt Ruth, Mom & Dad and Uncle Gene.
Love,
Bill & Mattie Hargett

I will miss George's smile around Clarkston Community Church. His attendance will be missed greatly, but what is our loss is God's and Heaven's gain. When I started at CCC, I watched George sub for an umpire that did not show up for the Men's Softball Team. I was so nervous watching him behind the catcher, praying he would not get hit or run over. He was in his early 80's then, but that would not stop George from being on the field. My blessing and prayers to his family during this difficult time. Susan Hagen
