HAZEL NASSTROM Obituary
December 12, 1924 to May 29, 2011; age 86. Beloved wife of Charles; loving mother of Carol Richie, Terry (Ray) Redmond, and Bill Raynes; dearest grandmother of Sean, Robert, R.J., Megan, Lucas and Hunter. Hazel was a retired teacher for Waterford Public Schools who enjoyed spending time on the golf course and with her friends at Canterbury-on-the-Lake. Visitation at Sparks Griffin Funeral Home, 46 Williams Street, Pontiac on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8. Mass will take place at St. Luke's Chapel, on the grounds of Canterbury-on-the-Lake, 5601 Hatchery Rd. Waterford, on Wednesday at 11 a.m. A luncheon at Canterbury will follow. Interment at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens in Novi.

Mrs. Nasstrom was my fifth grade teacher at Donelson. Her last name was Raynes then. She was very nice to me and one of my very favorite teachers. I hope her family finds comfort in knowing she made a difference in so many lives. May she rest in peace.

Hazel was a dear, sweet lady who always met you with her full smile. Her gentle presence will be missed here at Canterbury, but her spirit will still be present among her friends.
