WHEN JOHN DIED I COULD NOT BELEIVE IT. HE WAS IN EXCELLANT HEALTH THE LAST TIME I SAW HIM AND HE ALWAYS TOOK GOOD CARE OF HIS BODY. I WORKED FOR JOHN FOR 6.5 YEARS IN BELLEVILLE, MI AND WE ENJOYED EACH OTHERS COMPANY AND ENJOYED WORKING TOGETHER. I OWE JOHN SINCE HE HELPED ME GET MY FIRST CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP IN 1980.

I first went to work For Buff Whelan as his Sales Manager in 1974. Buff and John were good friends and from the day John met me he treated me kindly and with respect - something not all of the other Chevrolet dealers did. Later, after I got my own Oldsmobile-GMC dealership and for the next 25 years when our paths continued to cross, he would always take time to say Hi, ask how my business was going and ask if I was all right. Just a true gentleman and one I will always remember fondly.
