Ronald Lovell Turnbull

TURNBULL, RONALD LOVELL; of Ortonville; died February 27, 2012. He was 78. Born September 8, 1933 in Groveland Twp. to the late Bliss Earl and Mary Helen (Auten) Turnbull. He married the former Janice Lane on August 30, 1958 in Pontiac. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Janice Turnbull; 4 daughters, Andrea Turnbull, Kelle (John) Hruska, Laurie (Mike) Dallape and Pamela (Steven) Codd; 2 sons, Ronald Turnbull and Rodney (Jennifer) Turnbull; one brother, Ralph Turnbull; 2 sisters-in-law, Karen Hall and Marilyn (Dick) Lash; also survived by 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Ronald retired from General Motors in 1996, was 3rd Degree Mason, belonging to the Ortonville Masonic Lodge, member and Past Patron for the Eastern Star and was an active member of the Ortonville Historical Society serving as President, Vice President and Trustee for many years. He was a member of the VFW Post #582, having served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was past School Board President for Brandon Schools, past Zoning Board Member for Groveland Twp. and served as the Chairman for the Ortonville Cemetery Association. Ronald attended Ortonville United Methodist Church and was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. He took great pride in all he did and was proud of the country and community that he served with his never-ending passion to achieve all that he strived for. He has achieved many awards and accommodations in his lifetime for his achievements. Funeral Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2012 at Ortonville United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Ortonville Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Friday and Saturday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at COATS VILLAGE FUNERAL HOME, Ortonville.
