Brett Jackson Obituary

Brett passed away at his home the afternoon of February 6th in a tragic accident. He will always be remembered as a beloved father, husband, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Brett was born in Olympia Washington in 1964 to Marjorie and Jesse Jackson. After attending North Thurston High School, he went to Western Washington University where he obtained his bachelor's degree. After college, Brett worked in physical therapy in Yelm, where he met his wife, Becky. With this marriage, he proudly gained a step-daughter, Brandy, that he immediately took in as his own. His lifelong interest in the medical field inspired Brett to change careers and join the Yelm Fire Department as a volunteer in 1992. In 1996, he attended school at night to become a paramedic and joined Lacey Fire District 3 upon completion of his training. During this time, Brett and Becky had twin daughters, Allise and Kendra, who he was a devoted father to.

In his free time, Brett enjoyed hiking, construction work, Nascar, and helping others. He was an active member in his community where he worked to share his knowledge with everyone he knew, and even some he didn't. He was deeply loved by all the lives he touched.

Brett will forever be remembered as a hero, in his family, his work, and the community he served for 32 years.

Brett will be honored on March 1st at 10 a.m. at the Yelm High School Performing Arts Center. All are welcome to join. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memories and pictures be sent to [email protected]. And as always, remember to thank a first responder.

For a number of years Brett, Brian, Ron, Graham, and I would be up early on Saturdays to Mt. bike in the woods between Lacey and Rainier. It was great fun. Watching Brett and Brian trying to out do each other really made me miss my brothers. It was great fun. Rest in peace Brett.

Bret and the girls would come to the farm to help out. There little hand prints are in our cement. We worked as volunteers in the fire service and always had good laughs. You will be missed.

I knew Brett before he became a firefighter . I was proud of the efforts he put into his EMS passion. This photo was taken a short time ago. His smile and energy shines brightly. Go in peace, my Brother.

The Jacksons lived right behind us. I have memories of Brett and Brian as long as I can remember. They always treated me like a younger brother.
Sure wish I could be there to celebrate him
