Catherine Heay Obituary

Catherine M. Heay was born on May 28, 1923 in Chehalis, Washington and passed away on March 14, 2007. She retired from the State of Washington in 1988. She was involved with Concern for Animals and the Albohn Family Foundation, an animal protection organization. She loved her pets and had a very soft heart in helping others with their financial needs. The family wants to thank her dear friend, Maria Dupuis, for her wonderful friendship and loving care. Maria was always there for Catherine in many times of need, especially when it came to her flowers in her yard. Catherine was very happy to have her brother, David White, his wife, Maryann, and their family back in her life again. Their rekindled relationship brought further years of joy and friendship. Catherine Heay is survived by her great- grandchildren (ten in all), Nick, Natalie, Hayley, Christopher, Tyler, Nathan, Hayden, Jordan, Mason, and Maddy; grandchildren, Steve, Shawn, Kim, Mike, Chad, and Jennifer; and children, Doug Heay, and his wife, Jerene, JoAnne Baier, and her husband, Bob, and Vickie Zabel, and her husband, Ed. Doug, JoAnne, and Vickie gave to Catherine a wonderful framed keepsake for Mother's Day in 1954 that simply reads: "God planned to make the world a gift surpassing every other, and I have had my share of it for I have you, Dear Mother." In lieu of flowers, the family would like to suggest memorials be made to Concern for Animals, P.O. Box 6074, Olympia, Washington, 98507. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2007, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Mills & Mills Funeral Home in Tumwater. The graveside service will be held on Friday, March 23, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. at the Claquato Cemetery, 142 Stearns Road, Chehalis, Washington.
