Daniel Decker Obituary

Daniel Ace Decker Daniel Ace Decker, husband, father, engineer passed away after 84 years on June 6, 2016. Born on July 10, 1931 in Long Beach CA he grew up in Dupont, WA exploring the outdoors. His life changed dramatically when he joined the Army after WWII as it sparked his interest in engineering. With the help of the GI Bill, Dan enrolled in the University of Washington and went on to obtain his degree in electrical engineering. After graduating from the UW, Dan met Corrie (Oosterwyk), the love of his life and wife of 52 years, until her passing in 2010. They married in 1958 and soon after Dan began his career at Boeing where he worked until retirement. His love and knowledge of the physical world, its complexities and how those rules govern our everyday lives was conveyed to his children at every opportunity. He was a passionate teacher with a curious mind and devoted his life to create a loving, stable home for his wife and children. Dan was preceded in death by his loving wife, Corrie. His survivors include his children: Scott, Leslie, John and Mike; and eight wonderful grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 13, 2016 at 12:00 noon at Cedar Lawns Cemetery in Redmond, WA.
