Olympia, Washington - It is with great sadness that her family announces the loss of their beloved wife and mother, Donna Hoff-Hovland, who passed away on July 22, 2023, at Garden Courte Memory Care in Olympia, WA. Donna was born on November 8, 1928, in Sturgis, South Dakota to Harry Ralph Glenn Bush and Beatrice Gertrude (Howell) Bush and was the youngest of five children. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, C. Paul Hoff; brothers Dick and Boyd; and sisters Mary and Jean.
She is survived by her husband, Calvin Hovland, whom she married in July 2003; her four children, Brad Hoff, Kelley Slaughter (Dale), Julie VanBeek (Brad), and Randall Hoff (Nicole); step-daughters Janet MacWilliams and Karen Feuer; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other family members whose fond memories of Donna will remain in their hearts forever. Donna was a kind and generous soul who loved to travel, play bridge, entertain family and friends, and was a longtime member of the Tumwater Valley Racquet Club. A celebration of her life will be held at 1pm on October 8, 2023, at The Jacob Smith House, located at 4500 Intelco Loop SE, Lacey, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the Dementia Society of America.
