Edna Caine Obituary

Edna Caine passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2003, at the Puget Sound Health Care Center. Edna was born on June 26, 1913 in Frontier, Wyoming.Edna and her husband, Jim, moved from Wyoming to Olympia, Washington in 1944. They owned the Garfield Grocery on Harrison Avenue. Edna then began her career working at the Washington State Office of Public Assistance. Later, and until the time of her retirement, Edna was the executive assistant for the State Pharmacy Board. She was a charter member of the Ladies of the Elks, Olympia Lodge. Edna was also a very active member of the Finnish Brotherhood Lodge in Winlock.Edna was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jim, in 1971; a sister, Jennie; and 3 brothers, Matt, John, and Sandy. Edna is survived by her daughters, Sharon Schultz (David) and Marilyn Deuel (Jerry); 4 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.Edna was a truly wonderful person who touched many lives through her kindness and thoughtfulness. Her most pleasurable time in recent years was spending time with her family, particularly with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She also looked forward to and enjoyed Sunday afternoons with her special friend Al at the Winlock Finnish Lodge.Edna requested that no service be held on her behalf, but she did wish that there would be a private family gathering.Edna traveled the world many times and enjoyed ocean cruises. She will be truly missed, and to this she would say, "Bon voyage until another time."
