Eloise Wokojance Obituary

s Eloise Mae Wokojance

This elegant, gentlewoman, beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister was surrounded by her loving family when she was led to heaven by her Guardian Angel at the age of 80 years. Born to Howard Dean and Ruth Florence (Miller) Fuller on April 27, 1930, in Doty, Washington, Eloise lived the majority of her life in the Kamilche area of Shelton, Washington, first as a girl growing up on her mom and dad's farm and later, as a wife and mother. She had a horse named Lucky - a beautiful buckskin she nursed back to health when he was near death. Many times, she would ride Lucky into Shelton to visit her high school and lifelong friend, Shirley Anderson. On April 16, 1948, in the City of Bremerton, Eloise Fuller married Frank Wokojance. The ceremony was performed by 96 year old Judge James W. Carr who, at that time, was the oldest living active jurist in the United States. Eloise gave birth to three daughters; Carma, Cathy and Cindy. She worked hard both inside and outside the home while they were growing up. The family moved to Kennewick for about 5 years. While there, Eloise was active in The Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and was crowned Queen of the Sweetheart Ball. In Olympia she worked for The State of Washington Departments of Motor Vehicles, L&I and Licensing. In Shelton, she worked at The Mason County Treasurers Office before going to work for PUD#3 from where she "retired" in 1987. She met and made many friends at work throughout the years. Eloise was an energetic woman, full of life, with a great sense of humor (she loved to tease and play tricks), who loved and nurtured her family and pets. Her pastimes included gardening, taking care of her home, her husband Frank, and the many stray cats which they had adopted throughout the years. After a hard day's work, Eloise and Frank would relax on the porch where they enjoyed watching their great-grandsons perform various bike tricks and football moves while Eloise would make her daily calls to check in on her children. She enjoyed excursions to the ocean in the motor home with her husband. As a mom and grandma, she was always willing to lend a hand. She was a fun person to be with and loved to go shopping with her daughters and granddaughters. Eloise is survived by her husband, Frank William Wokojance of Shelton; daughters (sons-in-law)- Carma Leigh (Scott E.) Anderson of Olympia, Cathy Lynn (Rex E.) McNish of Shelton and Cynthia Lou (Loren E.) Fassett of Fox Island; granddaughters Heather Renee (Montano) (Nathan J.) Benedict of Shelton, Brittany Leigh Anderson of Olympia; grandson Rex Earl McNish, Jr. of Shelton; great-grandsons Dakota James and Noah Gene Benedict of Shelton; Aunt Thelma (Miller-Shepard) Meier of Pasco, WA.; sisters Joan Hunter, Gail Brewer of Shelton, Beverly Wallace of Walla Walla, WA; brother(sister-in-law)-Dennis (Ruby) Fuller, Shelton; brother in Spirit Freddie Shaw, Forks, WA; in addition to numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A spiritual service will be held on Saturday, October 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at St. David's Episcopal Church, 324 W. Cedar St., Shelton to be followed by a Celebration of Eloise's Life at 12:00 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom at The Little-Creek Casino Hotel, 91 W State Route 108, Shelton. Please bring pictures of Eloise to share and display on her memory boards. I used to love coming to your house for Fourth of July when I was a little girl. You always let Heather and me sleep in your camper and we felt so grown up and special. I am glad I was able to reconnect with you a couple of years ago on a visit with my mother, Sherry, to Shelton.
Uncle Frank, I am so sorry for your loss. I know the grief must seem unbareable. Please remember that we all love you very much...and we grieve with you.
All my love to you and your family.

What a wonderful sister in law. I remember her standing at the sink while we sat at the bar and enjoyed so many laughs. It's her laugh that I remember most. I was so lucky to have been a part of her family. She left this world a better place. Thanks Eloise..
