Elsie Pickles Obituary
Born on July 1, 1920, in Hoquiam, WA, Elsie was the only child of Ethel Virginia Burns and Carl Sigurd Erickson.
She graduated from HHS in 1938 and married William R. Pickles in 1939. They raised their two children in Hoquiam.
Elsie and Bill moved to Olympia in 1964. She worked at JC Penny for 22 years retiring in 1982. Elsie moved to Montesano in the 1990's, returning to Olympia in 2012.
Elsie and Bill loved to travel and toured the US, Europe, China and Australia. After Bill passed in 1994, she continued to travel the US and world, making friends wherever she went.
Elsie had a great sense of humor and will be dearly missed by her extensive family, friends, and caregivers.
Elsie is survived by her son Robert (Linda) Pickles, daughter Virginia Twedt; grandchildren Kim (Bruce) Jarvis, Kevin Focht, Kelly (Andy) Berschauer, Keith Focht, Dana (Lee) Finfer, Kathy (Bruce) Bowen, Kyle Focht, Kris (Bryan) Goheen, Matthew Pickles; 12 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service celebrating Elsie's life will be held on Saturday, September 13 at 1:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Olympia, WA.

Elsie was a co-worker of my mom's (Maxine Willis) from JCPENNYS. They worked together for many years. I remember her as a very sweet lady. I know Elsie and mom shared many laughs and crazy times together. What a wonderful long life she lived!
