Ethel-Faye Sprouffske Obituary

Ethel-Faye (Lott) Sprouffske, was born on August 15, 1919 in Tacoma, and died on Monday, August 27, 2007, at the age of 88. She married her high school sweetheart, Fredrick J. Sprouffske, in 1939, and they later moved to Rainier, where for 61 years Ethel-Faye enjoyed farm life, her family, watching the deer and elk, and growing Christmas Trees. She was an organizing member of the Rainier Senior Center, the South Thurston Christian Women's Club, the Rainier Education Foundation, and joined or volunteered in many other organizations. She was a member of the Rainier Chapel for thirty years and most recently attended the Bald Hills Community Church. Ethel-Faye worked for the State Board of Prison Terms and Parole during the 1960s and early 1970s. She enjoyed many activities like knitting, traveling, reading, and puzzles, and delighted in photography, genealogy, and computers. Her greatest joy was that her family all live around her. She is survived by two daughters, Nancy C. Roberts (Bill) and Karen A. Creamer (Johnie), and one son, Jerry F. Sprouffske (Sands), all of Rainier; her sister, Irene Lott Koth; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 10 great- great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; one son, Lawrence "Larry" Sprouffske, and his wife, Mary; her parents, Claud and Etta Lott; and her brother, Oron Lott. Funeral services followed by burial will be held at the Mills & Mills Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Tumwater on Saturday, September 8, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. Viewing will be held Friday, September 7, 2007, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Rainier Senior Center, P.O. Box 67, Rainier, Washington, 98576; the Rainier Fire Association, P.O. Box 1055, Rainier, Washington, 98576, or the charity of your choice.
