Fred Roberts Obituary

Fred R. Roberts Fred Richard Roberts passed away on July 21, 2016, at the age of 82, at Providence St Peter Hospital. He was born September 3, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan. Following graduation from Florida State University, Fred served in the U.S. Army and then worked as a professional diver, recovering the first nose cones with animals shot into space. He also worked on a missile tracking ship. He retired after working for many years as a telecommunications analyst for the State of Washington. With his wife, Jean, he enjoyed traveling to nearly fifty countries and all seven continents. His daughter, Jennifer, preceded him in death. Fred is survived by his wife, Jean, of Olympia; daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Jonathan Alexander; and grandsons, Warren and Grant Alexander of Kirkland, WA. He is also survived by a sister, Joan Harrell of Robbinsville, NC and a brother, Luther Roberts, of Newport, RI. In keeping with his wishes, Fred will be remembered by family members at a future family gathering.
