James Shultz Obituary

James Alton Shultz Sr. ("Jim") passed away at his home in Tenino on Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at age 95. He was born to George F. and Hattie May (Keagle) Shultz on March 10, 1909 at their home near Tenino.Jim was one of seven children, and lived his entire life near Tenino.Jim attended schools and played football for Tenino, even receiving an invitation to play for Washington State. He married Thelma Anne Mundell in June of 1935.Jim worked in the timber industry as a timber faller until retiring in 1974.Jim loved working in the hay, picking berries, hunting, and his family.Jim had a great sense of humor, and was loved by many. He was preceded in death by his 4 brothers and 2 sisters, and a daughter, Janet.Jim is survived by his wife, Thelma Shultz, of the family home in Tenino, Wash.; two sons and their spouses, Jim Jr. (May) Shultz, of Tenino, and Lon (Mary) Shultz, of Livingston, Montana; and his daughter and her spouse, Necia (Ed) Kruse, of Centralia, Wash. Jim is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 6 step-grandchildren, by 12 great-grandchildren and 18 step-great-grandchildren, by two great-great-grandchildren, and by numerous nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held Monday, March 29, 2004, starting at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Tenino.Interment will follow at Forest Grove Cemetery in Tenino.Arrangements under the direction of Newell-Hoerling's Chapel Centralia.
