James Worley Obituary

James Warren Worley
June 7, 1935 - November 7, 2022
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma - Dr. James "Jim" Worley MD lived a happy life filled with adventures alongside the love of his life, Kathleen Worley. Kathy and Jim were married for 65 years. He lived life with gusto!
He loved the families and patients he had the privilege of working with as a pediatrician practicing in Olympia, Washington for 25 years before moving back to Oklahoma City to be near family and where he trained Pediatric Residents at his alma mater. His medical mission work in Nepal forever changed his life as he realized how much suffering exists in the world.
Dr. Worley would be delighted if you continued his tradition of extending a generosity of kindness and love toward others.
Dr. Worley is survived by his wife, Kathleen Worley, their children and their families, Mark and Linda Worley, Russell and Anne Worley, Jessica, Paul and Henry Mayer, Eric and Laurie Worley, Melanie and Steve Kirkley, Megan, Aidan, Tyler, and Pete Allen.
The family is eternally grateful for the love and care of Good Shepherd Hospice in his final days.

He was an Amazing doctor. He treated my oldest child from birth to age 16 when he left Olympia. My child had a disorder from birth that he was sentitive and handled with care and love. He was one of a kind. Thank you Dr. Worley.

I 1st saw Dr Worley in the old brick building on Capital Way.
He was not accepting newborns at the time but I had a hard pregnancy & my obstetrician Dr. Evans (another wonderful Dr.) told me to get a good pediatrician lined up before delivery as there could be trouble & everybody I knew recommended Dr. Worley.
He took me in light of my situation.
All went well and my Son was cared for by Dr. Worley & Pat his nurse.
He was always so supportive of Pat & she him. They were quite a team!
My Son kept going to him until He was 18!
My Daughter joined my Son almost 5 years later( he used to lift her in the air & call her " baby doll") & again until she was a teenager & Dr. Worley helped us through an extremely rough patch when he found a tumor on my Daughter's brain & he took care of everything..made sure she had the best surgeon at Children's Hospital in Seattle and watched over her in after care
We were sad to see him leave but will always remember him & Pat with great fondness.
I am sure he is lighting up heaven now

Dr. Worley was my pediatrician and my daughters pediatrician before he moved backed to Oklahoma. I can honestly say that I loved him. He always took time for me as a new mother with a crying baby... he always cared and always had a solution. He was a fabulous pediatrician and I remember the day I received a letter from him telling us he was retiring. I cried and cried, as I am now. What a blessing he was to so many! Rest in peace Dr. Worley.

Dr Worley was my doctor after we moved up here from California. Then he was my 3 childrens doctor until he moved away. He was always smiling and always gentle. As a young mother, I always had a lot of respect and trust in him.

Heaven gained an angel but we lost a fine man and outstanding physician. I met Dr. Worley in 1966 when our two year old son needed a pediatrician for an illness of a more serious nature. In 1967 our daughter was born. He was their doctor until they reached an age where they just had to move on. In the mid 70's I had the pleasure to work for Dr. Worley, supported by his wonderful nurse Pat, at Pediatric Associates. I was well aware of the care and concern he showed our family but was able to learn much more about the man as he cared for other families. His gentle nature and dedication to his patients was evident each and every day. Although he rarely took a short break, it was difficult for him to get his mind off how best to care for children who were severely ill. What better doctor to be chosen to train others in the medical field? In the days and years ahead a little piece of him will live on through the doctors who were fortunate enough to learn from the best.

I worked in the Nursery at the Old St. Peter´s Hosp. and when I found out I was expecting my first child, I caught him at the the entrance of the Nursery and begged him to be our Pediatrician. His practice was closed and not excepting new patients. He laughed and asked how far along I was, 5 weeks I replied, but you are the best of the best, please take us as patients. He was our beloved Dr. Until both our girls went off to College. He´d always ask if Jen was wearing her helmet when riding, he lived on Lemon Rd. and we lived on the Boston Harbor Rd. Waving as he drove by. Thank you for making me a good mother, I never had a question you didn´t answer or Pat was always there too. WHAT A TEAM

Dr, Worley was the absolute best, he was the pediatrician to all three of our kids and none of them wanted to move on to other DRs when they got to old to see him. May his family find comfort in knowing how well loved he was by many families.

Sorry for your loss.
At the Memorial Clinic in Olympia,
Dr. Worley put a cast on my foot after my brother dropped a log on it. Nice guy.

I'm sorry to hear of Dr. Worley's passing. He was my three brothers and my Pediatrician. He was the best and I can remember he would always have a basket with suckers for us when we were done with our visit. If I remember correctly, he had the basket in the waiting room, so we didn't have to wait until after our visit. I'm glad he moved on to do great things in another country. It proves what a great guy he was.

Wonderful doctor, wonderful human being! We were lucky to have him for the entire time he practiced in Olympia. Our three children loved him! Several years after he left Olympia he came back for a visit, and my two sons ran into him at the farmer's market. They were so happy to see him!
