Dick was a great guy. I ran into him on the road from Seattle to Utah. He is at rest now. Bless his soul.

To the Megiveron Family...It is with sadness that I just heard of Dick's death. I knew him from the early 80's when he owned the Billiard Tavern in San Diego. Although I didn't know him well, he always had a smile for me. He loved pool & he loved the players...we'll miss him. I've attached a publicity photo of him from the '96 Pro Billiards Tour - smiling that great smile...

In your Honor "Tricky" & Your Family!
I enter these Pictures so if anyone (Friends or Family) decide to buy your Guest Book, that they will have these photos in it and Everyone will know just how important you are to all!!
I miss you terribly and in Your Honor I am having an Memorial 9-Ball Tournament in your name! I know that you really didn't like Frankie's but now that you are gone, there isn't a pool place that has enough pool tables to have a "BIG" Tournament, so I pray that you will forgive me for where I am having it!?! It is the only way I know how to Honor you and your "Gift" of the game of Pool that you left to all of us, who loves & misses you so much!! You will always be in my Heart!
Luv Ya Always!
Patty

Tricky Dick is how I knew him and Billiards was his thing. I bought my first cue from him. He ran the Olympia Billiards back in the late 80's and early 90's. I spent my whole 16th summer in that place taking tips from Trick. He taught me how to follow through and how to line up for the next shot. He called me a natural and gave me the confidence I needed back then as a teen. Because of him Pool was my favorite game and kept me out of trouble. I am sorry to hear of his passing and though I didn't stay in touch he always had a special place in my heart and memories. Thanks for the good times Tricky! You are missed.

Dear Megiveron Family,
I am very sorry for the loss of Richard. I did not find out about his passing until today (August 25th). We had many fun years coaching baseball and basketball together along with Justin.
Please know that you are in our prayers and that we will miss him very much.
God Bless You,
Gary Steele and Famil

I first met Dick at 8-ball Billards and did not take to the game like everyone else in my family. However my mom took me to Vegas and showed me the life of pool and when we came home I started to play. Many times Dick would tell me how to make a shot or stay down and watch my shot. But he was a very patient man and would talk about anything else while you were playing. I knew him more on the personal side. I got to know him more when my mom would go watch his son Justin's baseball games. He was always lite up with such pride when he spoke of Justin. He was a great man, father, and mentor. You will be so missed by all! No matter what side people knew you by, your pool,golf or parent world you were always 100% genuine and true to yourself. My heart goes out to his children and grandchildren as I know he is greatly missed and loved. I will meet you again my friend.

He played with the "Best"!!

"Tricky Dick" Is what they called him when I first met him! He was the owner of Olympia's "8-Ball Billiards", where I use to take my children to learn the game of "Pool" as well as to improve my game. We became friends right away and he helped me improve my game 8-Ball. As time went by Tricky and Myself became single at the same time 1994, that is when he taught me not to "hate" the game of "9-Ball"!! We spent many of late night playing the game for months, I watched every shot and chooses of balls that in pocketed and his love for the game, finally one night he missed a shot ( I did ALOT of racking ) then I got to shoot and it was as if he was in my head and every shot I took, I could see him doing that shot and how he made it when he was shooting! Then he said " Now go to Las Vegas and play in the single, I did and got into the money "WOW" what a teacher he was, the BEST !! I will always treasure the Game of Pool that he taught me, a gift that I will carry with me forever!! But most of all I will carry the most wonderful Friendship that he taught me as well, how to cool my temper and walk away for those who were not as kind. My heart will be broken for some time to come, but it will mend cause I know he is out of pain and now with Larry Carter in heaven playing as a team against all of the other great legends that we have lost in pasting. Well, Tricky keep the tables clean and level so when it is my turn to come to heaven, that I will be able to at least "Try" my best to beat you in a game of your choose (9-Ball) ! You will missed by so many people, specially your Family!! God Speed my Best Friend!! I can't say good-bye but I can say that we shall see each other again, when it is my turn to play you a game of Pool ( your chose of game of course )! I love you so very much and will miss you daily Tricky, my Best Friend, my Mentor of Life and the Love for the game called "Pool" !!!
Love you my Friend;
