Olympia, Washington - Richard "Richie" Stack, adored husband and father, passed away April 6, 2023. He was born April 27, 1942, in Albany, New York, and graduated from the Christian Brother's Academy in 1959.
He served 17 years in the U.S. Marines, reaching the rank of Major, and flew helicopters in Vietnam--HMM365 "Koler's Klowns." He later was an airline pilot for Braniff Airways, Piedmont Airlines and US Air.
In Olympia, he volunteered with Boy Scout Troop 266, Civil Air Patrol for 15 years. He was an active member of the American Legion, VFW, and the Center-O Flying Club. Whether on land, air or sea, Richie loved adventures with his family.
His Military Memorial Service will be held May 13, 2023, 1:30-4:00 p.m. at Funeral Alternatives, 2830 Willamette Dr. NE, Lacey, WA 98516.

He will truly be missed. He had lots of stories to tell and it was always a joy to listen. He left behind an amazing family, that I am sure look will carry on his memory. I feel blessed to have been able to hear a bit of his knowledge
