Scott Gehring Obituary

Scott Jason Gehring After a courageous battle with cancer, Scott Jason Gehring, 42, died in the arms of his loving wife, Heather, at their home in White Salmon, Washington, on January 30, 2014. Scott was born on June 2, 1971 to Walter and Marsha Gehring. After graduating from Western Washington University, he made his home in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge where he enjoyed windsurfing, mt. biking, skiing and sailing his boat. Scott loved adventure sports and spent 14 years working at DaKine in Hood River, Oregon, developing products for the sports he loved. Scott's other passion was his family and friends. He was a patient, kind, and loving person who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Along with extended family, Scott is survived by his wife, Heather, his sons Chance (7) and Zane (3), and his mother, Marsha Gehring of Olympia. Scott had a firm belief in Jesus as his personal savior and we are comforted by the fact that he is now at home in heaven. A celebration of Scott's life will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014, at 2:00 at the Hood River Alliance Church, 2650 Montello, Hood River, OR. A reception will follow at The Bingen School Inn(www.bingenschool.com). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Scott Gehring Memorial Fund at Wells Fargo for his children's education.
