Steven Hock Obituary

Steven L. Hock Steve, age 59, passed away September 16, 2012, in Olympia, Washington. He was born December 15, 1952, to Dee and Ferol Hock in Klamath Falls, Oregon. He was a 1970 graduate of Bellevue High School in Bellevue, Washington, and went on to earn a BA in English Literature from the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington (summa cum laude,1974), and a JD from the University of Chicago Law School in Chicago, Illinois (1977). He married Angela Lee Sunseri on November 13, 1979, in San Mateo, California. Steve was an attorney-at-law, managing partner and consultant at Thelen, Marrin, Johnson and Bridges, LLP in San Francisco, California (1977-2003); a consultant and public speaker in Missoula, Montana (1998-2008); cofounder and operations manager of Petit, Hock & Strauch, PLLP in Missoula (2004-2008); and chief review judge for the Washington State Employment Security Department, Commissioner's Review Office (2010-2012). Steve was a brilliant and dedicated professional who had a great wit and wicked sense of humor. He also was a beloved son and brother, and a devoted husband, father and grandpa. His enjoyed debate, reading and fly fishing. Steve is survived by his parents; wife, Angela Hock; son, Martin Hock; daughter Karan Wright; brother, David Hock; sister, Lynette Elze; and grandchildren, Evan Wright and Abigail Wright. A private family service is planned. Memorial donations may be made to the Thurston County Food Bank, 220 Thurston Ave. NE, Olympia, or an organization of donor's choice. I was so sorry to hear about your loss. I was a paralegal at Thelen for over 25 years, and some of my fondest memories of that time were working with Steve. An unbeatable sense of humor, beautiful writer and terrific boss.
