Sverre Helland Obituary
Sverre "John" Helland passed away peacefully on November 29, 2010. Born in 1916 in Devil's Lake North Dakota, Sverre lived a long and happy life. Sverre was a professional electrician and could "fix" or recreate just about anything. Sverre offered many years of strong support to the Olympia community and that of his church family at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Tops on Sverre's list of joys were his connections with family and friends. There was always time for a lively conversation spiced with a bit of sharp wit.
Sverre was the loving husband of Lorrine who preceded him in death in 1996. He was the loving father of son, Mark and daughter Karen. Extended family live in Olympia, North Dakota, California and Canada.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 4 at 11:00 a.m., at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 1515 Harrison Ave. NW, Olympia WA.
