Wanda Harvey Obituary

Wanda Irene Harvey, 70, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2003, at Landmark Care Center. She was born in Holden, Missouri on March 4, 1933. Her family moved to Yakima in 1936, where she spent most of her childhood.On December 10, 1949 Wanda married Harry L. Harvey and moved to Tacoma, Washington. They moved between Washington and California, eventually settling in Yakima, where Wanda finished her life's journey. Together they have 6 children, John (Debbie) Harvey, Cathy (Jim) Penning, Joe (Kim) Harvey, Lola (Vernon) Jacobe, Rebecca Harvey, and Jim (Linda) Harvey. They also have 17 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Wanda was preceded in death by her father and mother, Henry and Minnie Irene Smith, along with 6 siblings. Her surviving siblings are Allene Shelton, of Kennewick, Washington, and Darrell Smith, of Olympia, Washington.In her later years, Wanda's life was filled with light and joy by her great-grandchildren and her Yorkshire Terriers. Wanda's special gift to this world was healing others' physical pain through massage therapy from 1975 to 2002. Wanda's special gift to her family was her ability to give unconditionally. Her love was absolute. She will continue to be an inspiration of charity and kindness to all who knew her.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2003, at 10:00 a.m. at the Terrace Heights LDS Church in Yakima. Viewing will be at 9:00 a.m. in the Relief Society Room. Burial will follow at Terrace Heights Memorial Park in Yakima. Valley Hills Funeral Home, Yakima, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
