Anthony Smith Obituary

Plymouth - Leaving this world much too soon, the brilliant technical mind of Anthony fell silent the afternoon of Saturday, June 14. Born on December 14, 1985, Anthony graduated from Warsaw High School with the class of 2004 and from Purdue University with a degree in Computer Science in 2009. He went on to co-found three successful companies with the latest being Malomo, a shipment tracking firm. In 2022 Anthony was named as one of the country's top CTO's in the computing shipping space.
Anthony leaves behind his loving and deeply devoted wife of 5 years, Suzanne Phend of Plymouth, as well as his in-laws Jim and Cathy Phend of Plymouth, brother-in-law Josh (Abbey) Phend of Plymouth, sister-in-law, Rebecca Phend of Evanston, IL who all loved Anthony. His father and mother Kevin and Julie Smith of Warsaw, sister, Sarah (Trent) Barlow of Warsaw, Chase Smith of San Diego, CA, grandmothers Gail Robbins, of Kokomo, Arlene Smith of Amboy, business partner of 15 years, Yaw Aning, best friend and cousin, Curtis Robbins both of Indianapolis along with several nieces and nephews.
Anthony and Suzanne loved to travel. They began their journey of love by taking a 19 day road trip from Indianapolis to California. They were married June 26, 2020 in the beautiful backyard of her beloved Uncles, David Relos and Jerry McGlocklin in South Bend, IN for whom Anthony held the utmost respect. They planned to visit every National Park and every US state. Anthony loved to explore new cities with the love of his life.
A gentle, quiet man, Anthony loved animals and was currently the pawrent of 3 dogs, Cece, Teeny and Mabel along with 3 cats, Buddha, Petunia and Willow, who loved nothing more than to snuggle with him as he worked away on his computer or on his lap as they enjoyed down time. He was preceded in death by his precious pup Ruby. Anthony will be sorely missed by those he loved and who loved him. His kindness for others was always present and though gone from our presence, his memory and accomplishments will live on. Rest in peace dear one and thank you for being such a giving soul and friend to so many.
A private memorial will be held at a later date in remembrance of Anthony to give thanks for the sunshine and smiles he so readily shared.
If anyone would like to donate in memory of Anthony, they may be made to Marshall County Humane Society or Dustin's Place, Plymouth. If you are struggling with mental health, never hesitate to reach out to those who love you most.
