Betty Rosebaum Obituary

Betty Jane Rosebaum, 85, of Hanna, IN, passed away on Oct. 20, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Betty was born on Nov. 21, 1938, in Culver, IN, to David and Freda (Reed) Burns.
On Dec. 25, 1958, in Oceanside, CA, she married John Edward Rosebaum who survives. Also surviving are her adoring children, Colette Rosebaum of La Porte, John (Lisa) Rosebaum of Union Mills, Edward (Pam) Rosebaum of La Porte, and Douglas (Tammy) Rosebaum of Hanna; grandchildren, Brittany (Mike) Pavelchak of La Porte; Heath (Natasha Goldman) Rosebaum of Michigan City, Edward (Nicky) Rosebaum of La Porte, Benjamin (Tanner) Rosebaum of Union Mills, Georgie (James) Marvel of La Porte, and Nicholas (Hope Ferkull) Rosebaum of Hanna; great grandchildren, Louie, Rylee, Pax, Rowan, Edward, Jimmie, Lainey, Rainn, and Sophie; sisters, Helen Norman and Nancy Jimenez; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Eunice Schrimsher; and brothers, David, Rick, and Doug Burns.
Betty was a graduate of Culver High School, where she was a cheerleader and baton twirler. After graduation, she began her working career as a bookkeeper at Culver Military Academy. She later worked at Bank of America in Oceanside, CA.
She enjoyed assembling jigsaw puzzles, working in her yard, and watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren in their sporting and dancing events. Most importantly, Betty dearly loved her family and the time she spent with them. She loved welcoming family and friends into her home, where she'd lovingly serve her famous homemade chicken and noodles, biscuits and gravy, and potato salad.
Betty had a smile that lit up a room. She will be dearly missed by all who had the honor of knowing her. Betty will be fondly remembered for saying "When you go outside, come back in!". For her grandchildren, she'd always say "Don't tell Grandpa.".
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 25, 2024, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Carl Galloway officiating. Burial will follow at Hanna Cemetery.
