Billy Farist Martin

1938 - 2022

Billy Farist Martin, 83 years old, passed away at 3:09 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022 at his home. Billy was born on Sept. 15, 1938 in Keokee, VA to the late Farist and Martha (Arney) Martin. He has lived most of his life in Plymouth. On Feb. 14, 2001, Billy and Janis Hygema Ross were united in marriage. Janis preceded him in death. His grandson, Neil Holderman also preceded in death, as well as by 9 brothers and sisters, and he was the baby of the family. He worked at Bremen Castings from May 25, 1957 - Sept. 29, 2000 and enjoyed his retirement.
Billy is survived by his daughter, Teresa Martin of Plymouth; sons, Dale (Anita) Martin of LaPaz and Dean (Chris) Martin of Portland, OR; five grandchildren, Danielle (Josh) Holderman-Stump, Brooke (Austin) Bragg, Nicole Martin, Brandon (Christina) Martin and Joe (Kyli) Martin; and 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022 at the Palmer Funeral Home, within the Palmer Community Complex, 601 N. Michigan Street, Lakeville. Graveside services and burial will follow at Morris Cemetery, Walkerton. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 12 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
